We want our pupils to develop an appreciation of their place in time and space. To know that they are a product of the past and their actions will have an affect on the future.

We want children to know and understand the history of our nation as a coherent, chronological narrative, from the earliest times to the present day: how people’s lives have shaped this nation and how Britain has influenced and been influenced by the wider world.

We want children to be exposed to significant individuals who represent diversity in all its forms, as well as being relevant to their own heritage. There is a significant focus on local history.
